Our Approach

The Japanese head spa treatment has been around for generations, it is a popular must do wellness routine in Japan. I am excited to introduce this treatment locally in town, so you won't need to travel out of the country to experience this. My one on one private oasis is hidden inside Salt and Light Studio in the heart of Damascus, Oregon. Step inside my oasis and you will be transported to a tranquil sanctuary. Once you are settled into the plush luxury head spa chair;  the chair will slowly recline and your head and neck will land right into a soft leather cushion ergonomically designed to keep you comfortable. You will be draped with a soft blanket and cozy socks to wear and also keep to take home. A gentle warm micro mist will keep you warm and relaxed through out your treatment, the mist will open your hair follicles and loosen build up from the scalp. An aroma oil creates a soothing lather on your scalp, expert hands and fingers work through your pressure points to loosen muscle tension. The sound of water mimics a waterfall in your ears and warm water cascading down your hairline and the warmth of hot towels is just pure relaxation. The final relaxation arrives with a "head soak" which is called the Toshinyoku; essentially an onsen bath for your scalp. After the treatment, with a push of a button; the chair will bring you back up to a sitting position. You will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

Meet the founder of Mizu Head Spa

Hello, thank you for taking the time to view my services and webpage. My name is Diane and I will be your head spa specialist. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and a graduate from Aveda Institute Portland and also trained and certified with Yume Japanese head spa. When I was in cosmetology school, I enjoyed being at the shampoo bowl and shampooing hair is so satisfying. I found a big interest in Japanese head spa in 2023. In order to provide the ultimate art of relaxation; I did my research.

I want to provide the most authentic Japanese head spa, so I decided to go to the source; Japan. I experienced a few head spas while I was there and this service is so relaxing that I fell asleep!

It helped relieve stress and an overall reset. I am certified in Yume Japanese head spa and I also took a continued education course in dry head spa massage techniques with the one and only Akemi Watanabe; she is one of the top dry head spa educators in Japan. I am passionate to share this unique wellness experience locally in town and I look forward meeting  you.
